Short version: your diary stays on your device.
I Am Mindful! stores the information you enter — the date of each entry, your 1–5 ratings for mood, anxiety, sleep, energy, and focus, and any optional notes — locally on your iPhone using Apple's SwiftData framework. Nothing you type or rate is uploaded to any server we control.
I Am Mindful! sends a small number of anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. These signals tell us things like "the app launched", "an entry was created", or "an entry was deleted" — nothing more. We use them only to understand how the app is used in aggregate and to spot bugs.
We never send your rating values, the dates of your entries, or any text you type into notes. The only parameter we attach to an entry signal is a single boolean, hasNotes, indicating whether the entry has any notes — not what they say.
TelemetryDeck does not collect your IP address or advertising identifier; it derives a salted, hashed identifier on-device that cannot be reversed to identify you. See TelemetryDeck's privacy statement for details on what they do and do not store.
I Am Mindful! does not currently send notifications and does not request notification permission.
Your I Am Mindful! data is included in your standard iCloud or iTunes/Finder iPhone backups, alongside the rest of your apps. Those backups are managed by Apple, not by us.
Diary entries can reflect mental and emotional state. We've designed the app so that this content never leaves your phone — not to a cloud sync we run, not to analytics, not to anyone. If you uninstall the app, the entries are removed with it. If you delete an individual entry inside the app, it is removed from local storage immediately.
I Am Mindful! collects no data of any kind and is safe to use at any age. The app contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no external links to user-generated content. It is not directed at children under 13, but complies with COPPA by virtue of collecting no personal information.
Because no personal data is collected from you, there is nothing on our side to access, export, correct, or delete. This policy is provided to comply with Apple App Store requirements (Guideline 5.1.1) and applicable privacy law — including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the updated version will appear at this URL, the "Last updated" date below will change, and the change will be summarised in the App Store release notes.
