Short version: your camera feed and your photos stay on your device.
Nothing. I Can See! does not store the camera feed, the photos you load, or the colors you identify. Each color reading is computed on-device in real time and discarded as soon as the next frame arrives.
The only thing the app saves between launches is whether you've already dismissed the first-run guide, kept in a single on-device preference.
The app asks for camera access so it can show you the live preview and sample the color at the centre of the frame. Camera frames are processed entirely on-device and never leave your iPhone.
The app uses the standard iOS Photos picker and Files importer for photo-inspector mode. These are system-provided UIs — the app only ever sees the single image you pick, not the rest of your library.
I Can See! sends a small number of anonymous usage signals to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. The signals are limited to:
App.launch — the app opened.Camera.authorized / Camera.denied — whether the camera permission was granted.Reading.corrected — you changed the detected color label using the correction picker.Reading.correctionCleared — you reset a correction back to the detected label.
Never sent: pixel values, hex codes, photo contents, image filenames, or anything else derived from image content. For correction events, only the selected color labels (for example from=Olive, to=Yellow) are sent. TelemetryDeck does not receive your IP, IDFA, or any reversible device identifier — it sees only a salted, hashed token.
I Can See! is rated 4+ and is not directed to children under 13. It contains no advertising, no in-app purchases, and no social features.
