Setup tips, troubleshooting, and how to get in touch.

Getting started

How do I add the widget to my Lock Screen?

Long-press your Lock Screen → tap Customize → tap the Lock Screen → tap the date pill above the clock → choose I Am. Tap Done and your Lock Screen date now shows a daily affirmation.

The widget slot shows "I Am" but the message is blank or truncated.

The inline widget shares the date slot, so the combined text — Wed 23 Apr | I am worthy — has to fit on one line. On the smallest iPhones a very long date (like Wednesday 23 September) can crowd the message. Make sure your date format in iOS Settings → General → Language & Region is set to the short style.

How often does the message change?

Once per day, at midnight. Every device shows the same affirmation on the same date — the selection is deterministic, not random, so it's consistent whether you reinstall the app or switch devices.

Custom affirmations

How do I add my own affirmations?

Open the app, tap Custom, and use the + button to add a message. Keep it short — the date slot is narrow, and longer messages will be truncated by iOS.

Can I use only my custom affirmations?

Yes. In the app, toggle off Include built-in affirmations and only your custom messages will appear in the rotation.

Troubleshooting

The message hasn't updated since yesterday.

The widget pre-bakes a 7-day timeline at midnight. If your device was off or in low-power mode at midnight, iOS may delay the reload. Open the I Am Worthy app once — this forces a timeline refresh — then lock your screen.

I don't see "I Am" in the widget picker.

Make sure the app is fully installed and has been opened at least once. If it still doesn't appear, try restarting your iPhone. Occasionally iOS needs a reboot to register a newly installed widget extension.

Privacy & data

Does the app collect any data?

Only anonymous usage signals (app launched, custom affirmation added/removed) sent to TelemetryDeck. The text of your affirmations is never transmitted. See the privacy page for full details.

What permissions does the app need?

None. I Am Worthy requests no access to contacts, photos, location, microphone, camera, health data, notifications, or tracking identifiers. It only reads the current date from iOS.

System requirements

What iPhone and iOS version do I need?

I Am Worthy requires iOS 17.0 or later on iPhone. The Lock Screen widget slot used by the app (.accessoryInline) is not available on iPad or Apple Watch.
